WWE Rumors: NXT Star scheduled to make main roster debut at SummerSlam, possibly involving Goldberg or Brock Lesnar
SummerSlam is tonight and WWE has put together a very interesting card involving several of their top stars as well as a couple of WWE Hall of Famers. We will see the likes of Kofi Kingston, AJ Styles, Becky Lynch, Brock Lesnar, and Trish Stratus.
However, one Superstar who many won't have expected to see is allegedly also going to make a surprise appearance - that person is none other than NXT star Matt Riddle.
Matt Riddle's segment at SummerSlam
HeelByNature has reported on some backstage updates coming out of SummerSlam and have confirmed that Matt Riddle was scheduled to be involved in a segment, either pre-taped or live.
Matt Riddle was set to have a segment on screen, either pre-taped or at the arena. One thinks this may involve Goldberg due to Riddle him being vocal on social media.
Riddle has already been onscreen during SummerSlam weekend, as he took to the ring during NXT TakeOver: Toronto to call out Killian Dain, resulting in a huge brawl between the two.
Matt Riddle has been teasing SummerSlam appearance
Riddle himself has been teasing a SummerSlam appearance over the last few days on social media, and whilst people haven't been sure if this was something WWE were planning or not, it seems now that it may be happening.
Matt Riddle to attack Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam?
As for what the segment could be, HeelbyNature has suggested it might involve Goldberg. We'll get to that in a minute, but first, let's take a look at the possibility Riddle might get involved with 'The Beast Incarnate' Brock Lesnar in some way.
Riddle has been vocal in wanting a match with Brock Lesnar since he joined WWE, stating repetitively that he wants to 'retire' the current Universal Champion. As you can see above, the 'King of Bros' certainly seems to be hinting that he's getting close to Lesnar.
Matt Riddle to attack Goldberg at SummerSlam?
The other possibility is that Matt Riddle and Goldberg will be involved together in some way, which is, again, something Riddle has developed on social media when he called Goldberg 'The Worst Wrestler' ever, after his match against Undertaker at 'Super Show-Down'.
Riddle has also alluded to getting involved with Goldberg at SummerSlam - you guessed it! On social media!
Matt Riddle's main roster call-up
If Riddle does appear at SummerSlam, it would be his first main roster appearance and would make him one of the fastest call-ups from NXT.
It's clear that Triple H and other WWE officials see a star in Riddle and they want to use him right. There's certainly no arguing that debuting at SummerSlam against Goldberg or Brock Lesnar would be one way to use him right!
