WWE Rumors: Huge possible match for Clash of Champions revealed
It was announced on the latest episode of Raw that Roman Reigns would be facing WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens in a singles match, and that if he wins, he will be added to the Clash Of Champions Universal Championship match between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens, thus making it a triple threat showdown.
It was initially believed that after Kevin Owens won the Universal Championship, Reigns would resume his feud with Rusev, which had never really had a clear conclusion as they did not even have a match at Summerslam. However, as seen on Rusev’s social media account, he and Lana have been on their honeymoon for 23 days, so they are likely to return only next month.
In the meantime, Roman Reigns needs someone to feud with. While they are still not pushing him up just yet, they do have a feud for him and it seems to be with the veteran Chris Jericho.
This means that the likely scenario for the upcoming episode of Raw would be Chris Jericho costing Roman Reigns the match, and setting up a separate program with him. Currently, Jericho is in an alliance with Kevin Owens, terming their pairing as JeriKO.
It is interesting as last year at Night Of Champions, which was also in September, Chris Jericho was the surprise partner for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in their feud with The Wyatt Family. However, Chris Jericho ended up taking the fall after being choked out by the newly debuting Braun Strowman. Things have changed since then. Jericho made his return in January this year as a babyface, but once that started falling flat, he turned heel in his feud with AJ Styles.
After he turned heel, he picked up the “Stupid Idiot” catchphrase, which has since become a trend. Jericho’s ability to reinvent himself has garnered nothing but praise from the WWE Universe, who consider this to be not only his best return run, but one of the best runs of his entire career. It is quite true, in a sense that Jericho’s veteran role suits him perfectly in helping get over younger talent, while also being as entertaining as can be.
Are you excited by the thought of Roman Reigns vs Chris Jericho at Clash Of Champions? Are you happy with both competitors the past few months?
