WWE Rumors: Possible spoilers regarding return of injured Superstar on Smackdown

What's the story?

PWInsider (via Cagesideseats.com) has reported that Luke Harper is scheduled to be at tonight's SmackDown tapings.

Luke Harper's tag team partner Eric Rowan already made his return at Royal Rumble, forming an alliance with WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.

In case you didn't know...

Harper is not only a former multi-time Tag Team Champion but has also held the Intercontinental Championship in his career.

He was previously part of the Wyatt Family along with Rowan, Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman and Randy Orton, and was last seen as part of The Bludgeon Brothers where he teamed with Rowan.

Luke Harper has been suffering from a wrist injury and has been inactive since The Bludgeon Brothers lost their SmackDown Tag Team Championships to the New Day at the SmackDown after Summerslam.

While Harper had undergone surgery for the injury, his date of return was not announced.

The heart of the matter

There were rumours that WWE was planning to reunite Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt upon their returns, however, with Harper likely making his return on Smackdown tonight, that seems unlikely now.

It is still not clear if The Bludgeon Brothers will reform their team, as Rowan has shown a change in his character from the Bludgeon brothers days as he has now become wiser or rather "an intellectual peer" for Daniel Bryan.

What's next?

Luke Harper is one of the most talented yet underutilized Superstar on the roster, and we hope that he gets a well-deserved singles push instead of again becoming a lackey to some other superstar.

While it looks unlikely that he will return to the Bludgeon Brothers gimmick, he may join Rowan at the side of Daniel Bryan upon his return.
