WWE Rumors: Potential update on Matt Hardy's contract situation
Matt Hardy’s contract with WWE might be close to expiring as he has only a few months left on it, according to WrestlingNewsCo’s Paul Davis. This report comes after Matt Hardy made his return on WWE TV on the latest episode of RAW after last being seen at the Super ShowDown Battle Royal match.
Matt Hardy's contract only has a few more months remaining
According to the report, Hardy’s current contract is for a period of two years with a clause that allowed WWE to trigger an extension for another year, which the company opted to do.
While an exact date of expiration hasn’t been revealed, the report claims that his contract could “expire in a couple of months” but it could be up to four months as Matt Hardy revealed late in February this year that he had another 11 days left on his existing contract.
Since WWE activated the one-year extension clause, it could be assumed that Matt Hardy’s contract ends sometime during March 2020, meaning that he could have another four months before his contract runs out.
