WWE Rumors: Ronda Rousey's contract end date revealed
What's the story?
After conflicting reports regarding Ronda Rousey's WWE future emerged today, the matter seems to be settled once and for all as the end date of her contract has been revealed.
Several outlets reported that the RAW Women's Champion would be leaving WWE after WrestleMania, but it now appears that any departure would be merely temporary, as TMZ has revealed.
In case you didn't know...
Shortly after making a huge entrance to WWE at the Royal Rumble it was announced that Ronda Rousey had signed with WWE on a multi-year, full-time contract - but the RAW Women's Champion has made no secret of her desire to start a family with husband Travis Browne.
The Wrestling Observer shocked the wrestling world today by reporting that there’s a “very good chance that Ronda Rousey will be finished up with WWE at WrestleMania", while Pro Wrestling Sheet claimed that the rumors regarding Ronda Rousey "leaving WWE" have been hugely exaggerated and that she would remain under contract with WWE in some role.
The heart of the matter
After a day of chaotic, conflicting reports regarding Ronda Rousey's future, it would appear that there's now some form of closure, thanks to TMZ, who claims to have word straight from the WWE regarding the situation.
A WWE spokesperson tells us, "Ronda Rousey is under contract with WWE until April 10, 2021. Whether she wants to start a family is a private matter."
What's next?
So, that's that, then. Or maybe not. If Rousey chooses to start a family, she could very well step away from WWE temporarily or, slightly more unlikely, request to be released.
We'll get a big hint regardless when we know more about Rousey's WrestleMania plans. The former UFC star defends her RAW Women's Championship against Sasha Banks at the Royal Rumble this Sunday.
