WWE Rumors: Rumored finish for Survivor Series main event, and "friendly tension" between John Cena and WWE

The Phenom might have another opponent at Wrestlemania

According to The Inquisitrthere were backstage discussions on having The Undertaker interfere in the main event of Survivor Series between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg. This would have changed the complexion of WWE’s main event scene for the coming months.

However, since Goldberg signed a contract extension, WWE decided to go another direction, furthering the Lesnar-Goldberg feud instead.

The report also stated that Vince McMahon is not sold on the idea of Goldberg vs. The Undertaker. And he also does not want to revisit Undertaker vs. Lesnar, because he feels that has come to its rightful conclusion last year at Hell In A Cell.

Also, there was a report by Daily Wrestling News stating that Vince McMahon has asked the creative team to brainstorm for other possible ideas for The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33 if John Cena does not perform. The fear of Cena not being at Wrestlemania 33 comes from a “friendly tension” between Cena and McMahon.

Apparently, Cena isn’t pleased with Vince for taking Goldberg’s commitment to WWE for granted, and also feels that he deserves the same treatment after being there for 14 years.

It should be noted that while John Cena is still the highest paid superstar in WWE (earning $9 million a year), Brock Lesnar and Goldberg are paid far more, per appearance. However, in WWE, grudges don’t tend to last too long, so it is very likely that the “friendly tension” won’t last for very long.

Regardless, Cena has indeed transitioned into a more part-time role than before. He has been landing role after role in movies, with each one getting bigger and bigger. Although he has been busy with talk shows, award shows, and films, he insists that he is not going anywhere.

His most notable award show he hosted was the ESPYs:

Last year, he took a few months hiatus to film the first season of American Grit. He is currently on a hiatus to film the second season of the show
