WWE Rumors: Sasha Banks tried to quit WWE following WrestleMania title loss
What's the story?
A lot of people have been wondering what's happening with Sasha Banks after she wasn't on Monday Night RAW and missed a television appearance on the 'Wendy Williams Show'. Now a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter seems to have revealed the reason behind Banks' behaviour.
In case you didn't know...
Sasha Banks and Bayley, otherwise known as 'The Boss 'N' Hug Connection' were the inaugural WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, and were expected to go on a lengthy run with the titles, defending them across RAW, SmackDown Live and NXT.
However the pair lost the titles in a Fatal Fourway match at WrestleMania 35 when The IIconics opportunistically stole a pin. This was somewhat of a shock to many and the decision to do this now seems to be the source of the problems surrounding Sasha Banks.
The heart of the matter
There was some speculation that Banks' issues stemmed from not wanting to lose to Alexa Bliss on Monday Night RAW or that she didn't want to be split up from Bayley in the Superstar Shakeup.
However, it sees that the decision to have 'The Boss 'N' Hug Connection' drop the titles at WrestleMania is the cause all along, or at least the root of it all, even leading to Banks requesting her release from WWE, as per a report on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter
According to one person high up, Banks tried to quit over the weekend, as she felt blindsided when finding out at the last minute that they were taking the tag team titles from her and Bayley. She had thought that the two of them would be given a chance to have a strong run and bring credibility to the belts and establish them as serious belts. Then the decision was made to go to the Iiconics, who as champions, could only make the belts seem like gimmick comedy belts.

Dave Meltzer also went on to suggest that Banks' release wasn't granted by the company, with them instead asking Banks to take a few weeks to think about it.
Basically she has been given a few weeks to think things out before sticking to a choice the company believes may have been made as a rash decision. Anyway, that’s been largely confirmed by others but probably will be denied very quickly
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also added that he has been told this seems to be a similar situation to the Revival one a few months back, where WWE asked Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder to give them time to prove they could 'improve'
What's next?
It seems that Sasha Banks' future with WWE is on a knife-edge and the next few weeks will be crucial in deciding what's next for the extremely talented four-time RAW Women's Champion.
