WWE Rumors: Seth Rollins misses live events; speculation begins that he's injured
What's the story?
Speculation surrounding the injury status of Seth Rollins has begun after the Royal Rumble winner and challenger to Brock Lesnar's WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania missed some WWE Live Event appearances recently!
In case you didn't know...
Seth Rollins had a busy Royal Rumble weekend after outlasting twenty-eight other men and one woman to win the Royal Rumble match and then going on to Monday Night Raw to defeat Dean Ambrose and then challenge Lesnar before getting obliterated by 'The Beast Incarnate'.
Seth Rollins Vs Brock Lesnar is currently the scheduled WWE Universal Title match for WrestleMania 35, with the current expectation being that Rollins will overcome the odds to topple 'The Beast' at the 'Grandest Stage of Them All'.
The heart of the matter
With that in mind, it's particularly weird and slightly concerning that 'Mr Monday Night Raw' did not appear at two WWE Live Shows despite being advertised for them. Now, WWE isn't averse to advertising Superstars and then not delivering (Just look at John Cena at the Royal Rumble) but perhaps there's an unpleasant reason behind Rollins' absence.
Dave Meltzer via Wrestling Observer Radio commented on 'The Architect's absence from the shows, but didn't have any more information regarding Rollins' status and whether or not he missed them through injury, but seemed to suggest that 'something had happened to him'
“Seth Rollins didn’t work in Saskatoon and the other one was Vancouver and that was where both AJ and Becky Lynch didn’t work. Rollins was in Canada so there’s something happened to him."
Whilst it's entirely possible he isn't injured, it is weird that he'd actually be in attendance in Canada and still not work the show.
What's next?
Sasha Banks, AJ Styles and Becky Lynch also missed live events this weekend, with Becky Lynch reportedly resting a legitimate knee injury, so there's every chance that Rollins is also taking precautions against a niggle.
However, my best guess is that these guys were very active over the Royal Rumble weekend and the WWE is just letting them get some rest given that the Road to WrestleMania is likely to be incredibly taxing for them!
