WWE Rumors: Seth Rollins' surprising idea for new heel character revealed

Seth Rollins.
Seth Rollins.

The RAW after Survivor Series had its highs and lows, and some moments were just downright confusing. We're referring most specifically to Seth Rollins' heel turn.

The Beastslayer seemingly turned heel at the top of the show only to wrestle in the main event as a babyface. The burning question is this: is Seth Rollins a full-fledged heel now?

Bryan Alvarez addressed Rollins' character change on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Live.

It seems like the heel turn wasn't even a part of WWE's original plan for Rollins up until last night. The former WWE Champion has reportedly come up with a surprising idea of having a heel character who thinks he's right and that the fans have unfairly targetted the WWE and himself. He will continue to wrestle as a babyface while being a heel. Confused?

Here's Alvarez's explanation:

"The gist of the show is that Seth Rollins has turned heel, and apprently Seth Rollins has some wacky idea for his character, which I guess is that everybody hates him now, but he’s right and therefore, in the mind of Seth Rollins, he is a babyface even though everybody else thinks he’s a heel. So as a heel he’s going to wrestle as a babyface.
Listen, all of this stuff Seth has been doing where he's been booed out of the building up until yesterday, the idea was never that he was turning heel, I mean in his mind, it was his idea to turn heel. In his mind, he may have been planting seeds but Seth is, he's supposed to be a babyface all the way up until yesterday, so it was just, boom, he turned.
He did this promo at the beginning of RAW and he buried everyone on the RAW roster, he said all of you s***** last night at Survivor Series, we lost, blah blah blah, he starts burying everybody.
This is not like a slow turn they are doing right now. This is his idea. This is his character. He is a heel, who thinks he's right, I guess he thinks he's 1997 Bret Hart, but I just watched 1997 Bret Hart like two years ago, and he ain't 1997 Bret Hart. There are zero parallels, except I think he's got stringy black hair. That's the best I could come up with. But, that's his character.
The Seth Rollins character thinks that you fans are being unfair to WWE, so he's going to wrestle like a babyface while burying you, that seems to be the plan. I guess we'll see what they do next week."

Seth Rollins could be aiming to be a modern hybrid heel. We don't even know how to term his character at this point. All we can do is wait and watch how the new direction unfolds in the coming weeks.

This week's RAW ended with the Authors of Pain attacking Kevin Owens while sparing Rollins, possibly teasing an alliance with the former Universal Champion.
