WWE Rumors: SmackDown will not be a three hour show

SmackDown will be live from July 19th

Every day there have been more and more people tuning into WWE Network online, and also on cable tv, so there has been much demand to produce quality programmes for the WWE.

WWE has a monopoly over wrestling business being the most dominating organisation. With Raw running three hours live on Monday nights and SmackDown going live after the brand split, there were some questions that were popping up in the minds of the WWE fans. Will SmackDown be a three-hour show?

Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer made it clear that there is no point in making Smackdown a three-hour show as they wouldn’t be getting paid extra by the USA Network for going live on Tuesday nights. Currently, SmackDown is taped on Tuesdays and screened on Fridays.

All hopes of having another three-hour program have been put down, leaving only the usual two-hour option. There is a possibility of many fans being open to a three-hour show despite pricier tickets as a few more matches would please them.

But on the contrary, there are others who feel that it would be too tedious to have SmackDown for such a long duration. Initially, even Raw was a two-hour show and the fans loved it, in fact, many are calling for a return to the old format.
