WWE Rumors: Superstar Shake-up to happen on both Raw and SmackDown
What's the story?
Last week on Raw, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon announced a Superstar shake-up. According to a report on ewrestlingnews.com, the shake-up will transpire across both brands, and not be confined to either Raw or SmackDown.
In case you didn’t know...
Last year, WWE initiated a brand split and split the current roster into two divisions, namely Raw and SmackDown. Except for a clash during Survivor Series, both brands have had their own storylines, their own feuds, and their own angles.
In the Raw after WrestleMania, WWE Chairman Vince Mcmahon appeared on television and announced a Superstar Shake-up, ‘cuz it's time to shake things up around here’. Various Superstars reacted to the news of the Shake-up, most notably AJ Styles, who wanted to be part of SmackDown Live as he felt he had an integral role to play in building the whole brand.
The heart of the matter
Next week, Raw comes to us from Long Island, New York and is the second week of Kurt Angle’s reign as General Manager. We believe we’ll understand the nature of the Superstar Shake-up and get the first glimpse of the trades at the show.
SmackDown will come to us from Boston, Massachusetts and according to the report, be the conclusion of the draft, where we realise quite conclusively where each Superstar spends the coming year.
What’s next?
As always, we will keep our eyes peeled to the USA Network as Raw and SmackDown air live on Monday and Tuesday night, respectively. The coming week will have seriously major implications on the rest of the year for WWE.
Author’s take
We’ve all seen the rumours online. AJ Styles is slated to come to Raw, while the New Day go to SmackDown Live as a result of the Superstar Shake-up. In my opinion, Charlotte and The New Day could be drafted to SmackDown whereas someone like Alexa Bliss or American Alpha could be sent to Raw for fresh feuds.
The Shake-up should be very interesting indeed.
