WWE Rumors: Two Raw Superstars sign new five-year deals
What's the story?
Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have signed new five-year contracts with WWE, according to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.
In case you didn't know…
After joining WWE in 2016, The Club’s Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson featured regularly on Monday Night Raw as allies of AJ Styles during his rivalries with Roman Reigns and John Cena.
They went on to have a 64-day reign as Raw Tag Team champions, defeating Sheamus & Cesaro at the 2017 Royal Rumble before losing the titles against the returning Hardy Boyz at WrestleMania 33.
From that moment on, the former NJPW stars struggled for television time during their stints on both Raw and SmackDown Live, leading to speculation that they were planning to leave WWE at the end of their contracts later this year.
Despite frequent reports suggesting that they could sign with AEW or NJPW, both men reunited with Styles on the July 1 episode of Raw, prompting renewed talk that they might stay with WWE.
The heart of the matter
Dave Meltzer reported earlier in the week that Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have agreed to remain with WWE until 2024.
In an update on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer confirmed that they have now signed their new contracts.
“They are signed. They are absolutely signed. WWE is making even bigger offers than people think and that was one of them. They don’t want to lose anyone.”
What's next?
Although AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson’s run together as The Club in 2016 was short-lived, the trio still has the potential to become one of WWE’s most dominant factions.
Moving forward, expect to see Gallows and Anderson work alongside Styles in his ongoing rivalry with Ricochet over the United States Championship.
