WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon has given up on a Superstar who is well-liked backstage
It's not easy to survive in the cutthroat world of the WWE. Countless Superstars have enjoyed brief spells of promise before withering away into obscurity and Cedric Alexander seems to be the latest talent to have experienced the same.
Alexander was on the receiving end of a healthy push not too long ago. He was paired up with Roman Reigns and booked in matches against AJ Styles and Drew McIntyre while also being showcased as a talent to look out for.
His prospects looked bright as he was reportedly liked by Paul Heyman backstage.
However, his push came to an abrupt end and the former 205 Live Superstar lost a few matches before WWE cut down his TV time.
WrestlingNews.co reports that Vince McMahon may have cooled down on the Superstar's push.
It was reported that Alexander is well-liked behind the scenes and that his decline may not have anything to do with him rubbing someone the wrong way backstage.
Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co stated the following:
"Everything I’ve heard about him is that he is well-liked backstage and I have not heard of anything that he might have done to rub people the wrong way so it looks like McMahon simply cooled off on him."
Alexander has not won a match on RAW since September 9th and following his loss to AJ Styles in a US title match on the pre-show of Clash of Champions, the former Cruiserweight Champion has dropped matches to Andrade and Buddy Murphy on TV.
Alexander's most recent loss came at the hands of Mojo Rawley on the December 2nd Main Event tapings and that should tell you everything about what the WWE officials see in him.
Dave Meltzer was the first to report about WWE pulling the plug on Alexander's push but the Superstar came out and shot down the reports of being buried by the company.
The reality of the situation, however, is that the talented 30-year-old currently finds himself in a creative limbo and is not likely to get a push from Vince McMahon anytime soon.
