WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon reportedly furious at Seth Rollins over CM Punk reference on RAW
Apparently it wasn't just the entire RAW locker room that was upset with Seth Rollins over his controversial promo last night. WWE CEO Vince McMahon himself was reportedly furious backstage over Rollins' CM Punk remarks. Unlike the RAW Superstars, however, the Chairman's reaction wasn't scripted. McMahon apparently had a major issue with the way 'The Beastslayer' responded to the CM Punk chants from the Chicago crowd.
"I tried to get him (Punk) here, I'm sorry, he didn't want to show up. He wants to sit behind a desk in Los Angeles and talk about a change he's too afraid to make himself."
Seth Rollins then went on to chastise the locker room for their performance at Sunday's Survivor Series, before ending up on the receiving end of a crowd pleasing stunner from Kevin Owens.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Seth Rollins apparently ad-libbed the response and Vince McMahon was visibly upset backstage:
"Unless Seth and Vince worked it out and Vince was working everyone backstage by acting furious when this is going on, Vince was really upset about Seth responding to this. Vince's rule is that you do not push the idea of a match that you aren't going to deliver."
Meanwhile, FOX has confirmed the CM Punk will not be on tonight's episode of WWE Backstage. So, we'll have to wait at least another week before we get a possible on screen response from Chicago's favorite son.
Triple H will appear on this week's edition of Backstage and will be calling in live from the NXT Performance Center.
