WWE Rumors: When NXT could possibly leave Full Sail University
WWE NXT still contracted to Full Sail University
While most fans feel that NXT's move to USA Network has been very successful so far, one common complaint is that the show feels very restrained taped in the small arena at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL.
NXT is now competing head-to-head against AEW on TNT every Wednesday night, and AEW has been selling out 14,000+ seat arenas, which makes NXT come across as a smaller show and production.
The truth is, however, that WWE is currently contracted to Full Sail University, which is preventing the company from moving NXT to larger arenas in which the show could be taped.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE is contracted to Full Sail University until March of 2020, and the contract stipulates that the weekly NXT on USA Network shows must emanate live from Full Sail University throughout the duration of the deal. So as of this writing, it appears as if fans will be watching the show from Full Sail until March of next year at the very least.
The future of NXT at Full Sail remains uncertain
The PWInsider report does not specify whether or not WWE is considering taking NXT on the road after the company's contract with Full Sail expires, but if WWE does plan on holding future tapings outside of Full Sail, it looks like April of next year will be the earliest the company can do so.
As of now, the only NXT shows taking place outside of Full Sail are the Takeover events and the house shows which run on weekends.
