WWE Rumors: WWE interested in signing Lio Rush for NXT

With a lot of talent being sent to the Main Roster as of late, NXT is looking to fill up the gaps left by the call-ups with much younger talent from different promotions. According to PWInsider, WWE has expressed an interest in signing Lio Rush.
In case you didn’t know...
Lionel Green, better known by his ring name Lio Rush, is a 22-year old professional wrestler from Washington, D.C. He has wrestled for several well-known promotions in the United States such as Ring of Honour, Combat Zone Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, among many others. He is the winner of ROH’s 2016 Top Prospect tournament, a 2-time CZW Wired Champion and has also held tag team gold in Maryland Championship Wrestling, alongside current WWE NXT Superstar Patrick Clark.

The Heart of the matter
PWInsider reports that there has been a lot of interest in bringing in Lio Rush to WWE’s NXT. Now that Raw and SmackDown LIVE have their own separate rosters, the demand for talent is at an all-time high. Rush was also spotted backstage at WrestleMania 33. Now that he is done with CZW and Ring of Honor, speculation about his future has only intensified.
What’s next?
It should be noted that Rush’s addition to the roster isn’t confirmed yet. However, the NXT roster’s credibility has been declining ever since NXT’s bonafide Superstars made their way to the main roster. It’s a wise move to call in diverse wrestlers from across the globe and turn them into bigger stars.

Lio Rush has been a remarkable young superstar in the independent scene as of late. His addition will increase the in-ring diversity of the NXT Roster. His finisher, Dragon’s Call, which is basically a split legged frog splash, has received praise from fans and bookers alike.
At only 22, Lio Rush can improve and polish his already spectacular in-ring work with the help of WWE’s Performance Center and make his presence known on the NXT Roster. He might end up being a great asset for the WWE in the upcoming future.
