WWE Rumors: WWE is not buying ROH
What's the story?
As reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is supposedly no longer interested in purchasing Ring Of Honor. The news comes less than two weeks after both companies experienced a successful WrestleMania weekend in Orlando.
In case you didn't know...
Talks of WWE buying ROH have been ongoing for a while now, with the rumour first coming to fruition just over a month ago. Since then, fans around the world have been questioning the legitimacy of these claims, as a similar situation arose just a few months ago when talk of WWE putting in an offer for TNA was squashed just as quickly as it began.
The heart of the matter
According to the report, this information comes from someone in the WWE with full knowledge of the specifics regarding how the negotiations are going. The two companies are apparently still in talks about licensing old content that will be available on the WWE Network, however, it's not known whether they're close to finalising a deal.
What's next?
This tale continues to take many different twists, with it seeming likely that WWE and ROH will come to some kind of agreement regarding content. It makes sense for the two to work together, considering that ROH has been mentioned on WWE television a number of times in the past.
Author's take
We're glad that this seems to be the final nail in the coffin for this rumour, as it's been floating around for so long now. With things like this, it's exciting to consider the possibilities, but if they aren't going to follow through on it, then there really isn't much point in reporting on it day in and day out.
