WWE Rumors: WWE's backup plan if Bray Wyatt's 'Firefly Fun House' gimmick flopped revealed

Would we have gotten a new 'Wyatt Family?

What's the story?

Bray Wyatt's Firefly Fun House gimmick that was revealed on Monday Night RAW has barely gotten off of the ground but it's already the talk of the town. Despite reports shareholders want the idea binned already, WWE are said to be fully committed to the new character, even though they did have a backup plan if it was received too negatively.

In case you didn't know...

Some WWE Shareholders are said to have been unhappy with Bray Wyatt's new character, as they did not like the 'cult leader of children' aspect that WWE seemed to be going for. This led to WWE considering dropping the gimmick on Tuesday morning, but as you'll have seen they've now committed to it after re-airing the vignette debuting Wyatt's new character on SmackDown later that night.

The general reaction to Wyatt's bizarre new character has been relatively positive, but more importantly, it's gotten people talking about, and interested in, Bray Wyatt more so than they have been in years.

The heart of the matter

That being said, this is clearly the WWE attempting something different and is something that obviously comes with its own risks, so any reservations were definitely understandable.

However, theringsideroster.com has revealed that WWE had a backup plan for Wyatt in case they needed to drop the gimmick quickly, or not debut it at all.

Nikki Cross and Lars Sullivan with Bray as the New Wyatt Family was planned just in case but it appears that is not happening.

There has been some talk of pairing Nikki Cross and Eric Young with Wyatt now, to represent the Buzzard and the Witch Doll we've seen in the vignettes, forming a new stable. But this little piece of news suggests that a stable might not be in WWE's plans for the new Wyatt character.

What's next?

We'll have to see how Wyatt's character develops over the next few weeks.
