WWE Rumors: WWE unveiling new title designs following Women's Tag Titles Announcement
What's the story?
Vince McMahon announced last week on Monday Night Raw that the women of WWE would finally be given their Tag Team Championships, but these titles could lead the way for a number of new Championship designs.
In case you didn't know...
WWE has changed the design of their biggest Championships a number of times, only a few years ago all title belts in NXT were changed and when the brand split came back into effect back in 2016, the Universal Championship, SmackDown Women's Championship and SmackDown Tag Team Championships were all unveiled so that each brand had their own set of Championships.
The most recent titles to be unveiled with the NXT UK Tag Team Championships, which show that WWE wants to invest in this brand in the coming months in the hopes that it will become as big as NXT in time.
The heart of the matter
It is now being reported that WWE could change up a number of Championship designs in the coming months, which include the designs of the Tag Team Championships and the United States Championship.
WWE are reportedly looking for a design that sees side plates added so that the holder has the option of personalizing the Championship, which means that in turn, WWE will be able to sell more side plates as merchandise.
BeltFanDan recently noted on Twitter that WWE had a number of changes for Championship belts coming in the future.
“I was also told that both Raw and SmackDown tag belts will be changed to have removable team side plates which I also reported over a year ago when the idea was brought up. This was also proposed for the United States belt,” he said Ringsidenews.
What's next?
It is unknown exactly when the Women's Tag Team Championships will finally be added to the main roster, but it is thought that it will be sometime in the coming months, which means that many of these changes could be coming ahead of WrestleMania season.
