WWE Rumors: WWE Veteran fired after an alleged backstage incident with Vince McMahon

You're fiiirrreeed !

What's the story?

As it was revealed earlier this week, Arn Anderson was released from the WWE after being with the company in a backstage role since 2001.

A report from Wrestling Observer has finally disclosed the real reason behind the veteran's departure. Dave Meltzer stated that Anderson and Vince McMahon were involved in an incident at a recent live event which subsequently led to the former WCW star being fired by the WWE boss.

In case you didn't know...

Anderson made a name for himself as part of the legendary Four Horsemen and stayed with WCW until the promotion's highly-publicized takeover by the WWE. He would be absorbed by WWE as a road agent in 2001 and over the years, Anderson would go on to become a pivotal backstage figure, especially when it came to the production of Raw.

He would also be sporadically spotted on TV during chaotic brawls wherein the entire roster would storm the ring.

The 55-year-old finally parted ways with the company after being a loyal employee for over eighteen years. However, it wasn't a smooth exit as new reports suggest.

The heart of the matter

Meltzer said that Anderson was reportedly fired over an incident with McMahon. Everyone backstage is apparently tightlipped on what exactly happened between the two, however, Meltzer disclosed that Anderson took the blame for an altercation that happened at a recent live event.

Arn got fired. It’s an incident that everyone is pretty much keeping quiet what it was. It was an incident with Vince. I don’t know the whole details of the incident other than it was something at a house show that evidently wasn’t handled well and Arn took the blame for that,” Meltzer revealed.

Additionally, the relationship between McMahon and Anderson has been on shaky grounds for many years now as the two have been involved in many arguments in the past. Anderson is a favourite backstage and reportedly has Triple H and John Cena on his side. He was also Cena's agent and may have not have been released if the Cenation Leader would have been around currently on a full-time basis.

What's next?

We're sure more details on the alleged incident between McMahon and Anderson will come to light in the coming days. For now, we wish Anderson all the very best for all his future endeavours.
