Rumour: Big plans for The Shield at 2015 Royal Rumble
Lesnar vs Reigns at Wrestlemania
Even though its the month of July where WWE feuds and storylines are mainly constructed with respect to the SummerSlam PPV, several rumours regarding next year’s Wrestlemania 31 have already started to emerge from backstage.
And provided that the returning Brock Lesnar becomes the next WWE World champion at SummerSlam, the biggest speculation is that Roman Reigns will be given a massive push as he will face Lesnar for the titles at Wrestlemania.
To carry out that plan, it is obvious that Reigns will have to win the Royal Rumble match and book his spot as the no.1 contender to the titles. And F4WOnline reports suggest that the backstage officials are considering multiple angles to buildup the road to this big match at the grandest event.
The Shield to be the final three wrestlers at Royal Rumble match
Out of those several angles, some officials have been discussing a huge Royal Rumble moment that includes all three members of The Shield as the remaining final three superstars of the match. That means Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins will be the last survivors who will battle it out for a ticket to WM31.
Rollins currently holds the briefcase which gives him the license to cash in his contract anytime he wants to. He has the option to earn a title contender spot at the Rumble or he may even cash in his contract even before the road to Wrestlemania begins.
Meanwhile, Ambrose’s inclusion will surely mean that he will be there to spoil Rollins’ opportunistic moments. That leaves Reigns as the most likelier option out of the three to go on and win the Rumble match and headline Wrestlemania 31 against Lesnar.
As always, those plans can be altered by the creative at any given point of time. But it would be a special moment for the fans to see The Shield in the spotlight as the final three wrestlers of the 30-man Rumble match.
