WWE Rumours: AJ Styles to take on The Undertaker at Royal Rumble 2017
Current WWE World Champion AJ Styles has risen up the ranks very quickly since making his WWE debut early this year. In a matter of months, Styles has faced off against some of the biggest names in the business at present and emerged victorious over most of them while also laying claim to the WWE World title.
About a month ago, there were rumours doing the rounds that the former TNA champion may engage in battle with the legendary Shawn Michaels at the Royal Rumble next year. The speculations arose partly due to the fact that the pay-per-view is scheduled to be held at The Alamodome in Michaels’ hometown of San Antonio, Texas.

However, these rumours were quashed as ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ committed himself to a role with the WWE’s Performance Center. Styles, though, may still have his hands full at the Rumble if the newest set of rumours about his opponent at the pay-per-view turn out to be true.
According to reports by four3four.com, the Phenomenal One may most likely take on another iconic figure of the WWE in the form of The Undertaker. The upcoming 900th episode of SmackDown Live will witness the return of 'the Deadman' and this is being looked at as the starting point for the feud between him and Styles.
If this development turns out to be a reality, it is sure to be fantastic news for the WWE Universe as well as AJ Styles. While it will be a dream match for the fans to witness, it will be an opportunity for the WWE World Champion to enhance his reputation further by beating ‘The Phenom’ in a one-on-one match at the Royal Rumble.
The supposed idea behind pitting The Undertaker against AJ Styles is the fact that the venue for the pay-per-view, the Alamodome, has a capacity of 65,000 and it will require a huge main event to ensure that the arena is completely occupied.
The 15th November edition of SmackDown Live may provide some clarity on whether The Undertaker has indeed returned to feud with Styles or not. Here is a video WWE released to hype the 2017 Royal Rumble:
