WWE Rumours: Brie Bella coming out of retirement?

Brie Bella had retired from active competition after WrestleMania 32

The potential for Brie Bella returning to the ring for a match or a program at a major WWE event could make for an interesting watch for the WWE Universe. Not much time has passed since Brie Bella’s retirement, but she recently teased a return to WWE programming after last week’s edition of SmackDown Live.

Brie Bella took to Twitter to respond to Carmella’s attack on her sister about getting Brei Mode activated. However, there is some speculation that Brie could step back into the ring for a tag team match eventually if the feud between Carmella and Nikki Bella gets personal enough and it develops beyond the SmackDown Women’s Championship match at WWE Backlash.

The Bella twins have become a franchise. Coming to WWE from a “Divas Search” campaign, they worked hard for almost a decade and have carved a niche for themselves. However, the past year has been a rollercoaster ride for the Bella family both in and out of the ring. Back in October, Nikki Bella became the longest reigning Divas Champion in WWE, but she also went down with a serious neck and spinal injury that kept out of the WWE ring until she made her comeback last week at SummerSlam.

While she recovered, her brother-in-law Daniel Bryan’s fight to continue his wrestling career in WWE came to an emotional and heartbreaking end in February. He was forced to retire due to serious health concerns.

Following that, it was just Brie performing in WWE in a strange turn of events. However, it all came to an end at Wrestlemania 32 as Brie Bella got the submission during a five-on-five tag team match to call it a career on the grandest stage of them all. During an interview after the match, Brie had an unofficial goodbye for the WWE Universe and dedicated her career to her family.

Shortly after her retirement from WWE as an active competitor, Brie Bella revealed during an interview with WWE.com that her match at Wrestlemania 32 wasn’t the last match she’ll ever have in her career, but it was the last time she’s going to be wrestling in a WWE ring for quite some time. She said that she had put her career on hold for some time as Daniel and herself, were trying to start a family.

With Total Bellas premiering in October, and Total Divas returning with a new season on the E! Network this fall as well, it’s not out of the question for Brie Bella to make an appearance on WWE television to help promote both shows. She retired without any serious injuries, so the possibility to get her back for a match or two isn’t that far-fetched. It may also give her the excuse to get back into the ring for some “Twin Magic” one last time.
