WWE News: Cody Rhodes comments on not being allowed to use his last name
It has become common knowledge by now that former WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes sought his release from the company in May, and also released a “list” comprising names that he would like to wrestle in the Indies after that.
He made headlines yet again when it was announced that amongst those names, are legendary ones such as Kurt Angle, who Rhodes is facing at New Wrestling Under The Stars on August 27th.
But it would seem that the spotlight hasn’t deserted Cody just yet as the former WWE Intercontinental Champion has been in the news again, this time addressing rumours that he couldn’t use his last name while wrestling in the Indy circuits.
To add fuel to the fire, it was also observed that none of his merchandise in Pro Wrestling Tees had his last name on it either, reports WrestlingInc.com.
But Cody, who took to social media to address these murmurs, shot them down emphatically by stating that;
I own Rhodes

He was with me for my first breath and I was with him for his last
There's no piece of paper on Earth that takes my name away
Quite the statement, wouldn't you agree?
