WWE Rumours: Roman Reigns favourite to walk out Universal Champion next week

The Big Dog back on top again?

The last two months have been a rollercoaster for Roman Reigns. He had his coronation at the main event of Wrestlemania 32,  defeating Triple H to become a three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Given that his first reign lasted 5 minutes and his second 41 days, in order to get his coronation it was believed by many that Reigns would finally have a long run with the title lasting at least 4-6 months if not more.

However, shockingly, he dropped the title at Money In The Bank to Seth Rollins after just two months. This was also the first time that Reigns was pinned clean in a singles match. He appeared on Raw the next night and a triple threat with his former Shield brothers was set for a month later at Battleground, and the next day, he was suspended for a month for violating the WWE Wellness Policy.

His return saw him being pinned clean in two matches, one by Ambrose, and the other by a debuting Finn Balor.

This led to a rumble of speculations on Reigns being punished, and there were reports which stated that WWE are done pushing Reigns as the top guy “for the time being”. This appeared to be true, as Reigns immediately began a feud with Rusev for the US Championship, which was naturally a push down the card.

Last night on Raw, it was announced that the WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor had to vacate the title due to a shoulder injury that he got during his match with Seth Rollins.

This forced WWE to create 4 matches that will culminate in a Fatal Four Way next week on Raw, where a new Universal Champion will be crowned. The four competitors that emerged after Raw were Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Big Cass and Roman Reigns.

It is being said that Reigns is the favourite to walk out with the championship. It is highly likely that Seth Rollins will be successful, but as of now, rumors say that The Big Dog will walk out as the new WWE Universal Champion.

Naturally, Big Cass is not ready for the spot, and WWE do not seem to be ready to pull the trigger on Kevin Owens just yet. So that logic states that either of the two former Shield brothers will walk out champion.
