WWE Rumours: Ryback to wrestle under 'The Big Guy' ring name

Ryback has a new ring name for his latest forays

Ryback, whose real name is Ryan Reeves, has recently been released by the WWE, bringing an end to his six-year long association with the company. Ryback had not appeared on TV since Payback, which was over 3 months ago and his contract expired on August 8th, 2016.

Prior to his contract release, Ryback teased that he was going beyond the scope of wrestling, and would be pursuing other projects. He announced recently that he was launching merchandise and nutrition products using ‘Feed me more’, ‘The Big Guy’ and the ‘Ryback’ logo as well, which indicates that WWE does not have a trademark on these names. The 34-year-old also announced that he will be launching a motivational book as well.

As with wrestling, Ryback has been booked for WrestlePro on October 14th in Cresskill, New York and on October 15th in Brooklyn. It was also announced that he will be appearing at Wrestlecade and is being advertised as "The Big Guy, formerly known as Ryback."

His Twitter name has also changed to "The Big Guy,", though his handle remains the same and has Ryback in it. This serves as an indication that “The Big Guy” will be the name used by him for his next wrestling venture. It is not known how much Ryback will be into professional wrestling post his WWE release, but it appears he will be moving forward outside the wrestling business.
