WWE Rumours: The Undetaker NOT appearing at Summerslam
The Undertaker main-evented Summerslam last year against Brock Lesnar, which is quite hard to believe given that since 2011, he has rarely been appearing for more than one match a year.
This year, Brock Lesnar headlines Summerslam once again. In fact, throughout Brock’s WWE career, the only year that he hasn’t main-evented Summerslam was in 2013, against CM Punk.

The Phenom himself has main-evented his fair share of Summerslams, headlining in 1994 where he faced an imposter of himself, 97’ where he faced Bret Hart, 98’ where he faced Steve Austin, 2008 where he faced Edge, and then again in 2015 where he defeated Brock Lesnar in what was a very dusty finish.
Lesnar did defeat Undertaker 2 months afterwards at Hell In A Cell, thus ending their feud.
2016 saw The Undertaker return for a match against Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania 32, where he was successful. Since Wrestlemania, there has been no word of The Deadman, and that doesn’t come as a surprise either.
Majority of fans are under the belief that The Deadman may only return next year for his final match against John Cena.
On a recent edition of The Taz Show, which runs on CBS network, he got a call in from a fan abroad, who stated that he had seen a picture on twitter supposedly by a fan which showed The Undertaker in black dyed hair(which he dyes when he is returning) at the New York City airport with a fan.
Taz then rebuffs the claims of a possible return as he believes that if The Undertaker were to make a surprise appearance, then he definitely would not be taking pictures of himself with fans like such.
There was a recent picture of a frail looking, grey-haired Undertaker posing with a fan with a cane(which turned out to be a designed cane that ‘Taker simply wanted to pose with, and not for him to use).
Also, there was a picture seen of a fan with Shane McMahon and The Undertaker in a bar or restaurant that showed Taker with dyed hair. These conflicting claims have led to a great deal of confusion.
There is only one thing that can be done to answer the question, and that is to tune into Summerslam!
