WWE Rumours: WWE want to sign Kenny Omega
WWE began 2016 by signing 4 of New Japan Wrestling’s top talent – AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson – and it looks like WWE’s talent acquisition from the Far East has just begun with WWE officials high on former IWGP Intercontinental Champion, Kenny Omega. It was revealed earlier this year that WWE have already made advances to sign Kenny Omega and have been refuted by the New Japan star thrice. Omega has reportedly said that he will only sign for WWE when his fellow The Elite and Bullet Club members, The Young Bucks, sign with him. Basically, Omega refused to sign for the WWE unless they sign The Young Bucks too.
According to Daily Wrestling News, WWE officials are now confident that they can have their man by 2017 and New Japan officials are reportedly really worried about the situation. Omega is arguably New Japan’s top gaijin star and losing him would be a body-blow to the promotion. Interestingly, The Young Bucks contracts also expire sometime in 2017 also which will cause further concern amongst NJPW officials. NJPW have strict policies with their wrestler’s contracts that do not permit talent to talk with other promotions while under contract but are worried that friend’s of their performers will act as go-betweens.
