WWE Salaries 2017: Who are the highest paid wrestlers?
One of the major perks of being a professional wrestler with the World Wrestling Entertainment, in addition to the fame, is the moolah.
Trust me, hapless professional wrestlers who don’t make the cut to the list of elites, have to fight at 50$ a night for numerous smaller promotions and work their way to the top.
Heading into the grandest stage of them all are competitors who boast of some of the highest salaries in the business. Brock Lesnar, who faces Bill Goldberg for the World Wrestling Entertainment Championship has been pronounced as the highest-paid Superstar
Brock Lesnar took home a reported $12 million paycheque in 2016, trumping John Cena whose earnings went down from $9.5 million in 2015 to $8 million last year.
WWE Superstars Salaries:
S.no | Superstar | Salaries (in million $) |
10 | Randy Orton | 1.9 |
9 | Seth Rollins | 2 |
8 | The Undertaker | 2 |
7 | Shane McMahon | 2.2 |
6 | AJ Styles | 2.4 |
5 | Dean Ambrose | 2.7 |
4 | Roman Reigns | 3.5 |
3 | Triple H | 3.8 |
2 | John Cena | 8 |
1 | Brock Lesnar | 12 |
The reason for Lesnar’s ascent to the top can also be attributed to his return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship in July last year. He earned a record $2.5 million purse for the fight (the record was later broken by Conor McGregor at UFC 202). Even his failed drug test fine of $250,000 did little to offset his earnings.

John Cena, who is heralded as the ‘face of the WWE Universe’, fell to the second spot because of his lack of in-ring time.
A critical shoulder injury forced him to miss the first five months of the year while the last quarter of his year was spent in filming the second season of his Fox TV show. Cena appeared on only five pay-per-view events and headlined none.
John Cena was, however, the top merchandise seller (...kids these days!) for the year 2016, as always.
The list further includes Triple H, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins, each of them involved in big matchups this Sunday at WrestleMania 33.
