WWE: Shawn Michaels reveals The Rock rejected a match with him

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels

Jim Ross’ The Ross Report, entertained guest Shawn Michaels recently, as the WWE Hall of Famer appeared on the podcast show and talked about his return to Wrestlemania 14 after a long hiatus.

Michaels recalled the No Holds Barred match with Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania 22 stating that he felt relieved to have been in that feud as it kept him away from the pressure of the main spotlight.

"I just felt like having a WrestleMania where I wasn't sort of expected to go out there and tear the house down," he said.

"I just wanted to have one where it was just sort of relaxing and fun," he added.

HBK went on to discuss about a possible feud with The Rock during the 1990’s which was planned by the WWE since they were two of the biggest superstars of that era. But the bout never happened as The Rock didn’t approve of the idea despite of Michaels’ interest to wrestle The Great One.

"I can remember many, many years ago, as I came back," said Mr Wrestlemania, "Pat Patterson asked about that and I said, 'Sure, whoever you want.' But he wasn't interested, and that was it. But I liked anybody that I hadn't been in the ring with."

Michaels also revealed that the WWE always had something new for him when it came down to Wrestlemania. The only exception to this usual routine was the time when he himself suggested for a match against Vince McMahon.

Earlier in a video released by the WWE, Michaels talked about his relationship with the Undertaker and also why he never thought about wrestling one more match.
