WWE SmackDown, 27th September - Preview

This week’s SmackDown looks to be one of the calmest episodes in recent times as it does not feature top stars like Daniel Bryan, RVD, CM Punk and Ryback.

The show has some rather boring matches scheduled and hopefully, the results tonight will sound as different as the match card does right now.

Anyway, without further ado, let us look at the matches that are scheduled for tonight’s show.

1. Dean Ambrose vs Dolph Ziggler (US title match)

After successfully defending the title at Night of Champions, Dean Ambrose was pinned by Ziggler the very next day on RAW. This led to the announcement of a US title match scheduled tonight.

Ambrose is at present boasting a 130-day reign that Ziggler is pretty determined at breaking.

Title matches in TV shows have always been an interesting prospect. Alberto Del Rio won the World Heavyweight Title from Big Show in a last man standing match on SmackDown a few months back which was very exciting to watch.

Let’s hope we have something as interesting as that in the cards.

Plus, this match has put aside a rematch at Battleground, which means we will get to see something interesting in the PPV.

2. The Real Americans vs Prime Time Players

The Prime Time Players have been a pain in the back for Zeb Colter and his clients. They denied them a chance to challenge the tag titles at Night of Champions and did the same on RAW during the No.1 contender match.

With the Usos becoming the best tag team to challenge the Shield, The Real Americans will try and derail the momentum that the Prime Time Players have created of late.

The PTP however have been pretty successful against the Real Americans and would like to continue their good form against them.

3. Alberto Del Rio vs R-Truth

Haven’t we seen this one already? Well, guess WWE wants to give us an overdose of Del Rio as a winning champion. Despite beating the likes of Truth and Kingston week in and week out, Del Rio hasn’t managed to impress fans and the same will apply to his match on SmackDown tonight.

The chances of Truth scoring a victory is as impossible as pigs flying and so the result of Del Rio winning is a foregone conclusion. What remains to be seen is whether Del Rio will show his dominance and make Truth tap to his cross-arm breaker?

Let’s hope this is the last time Del Rio faces such least impressive names.
