WWE SmackDown: 3 Biggest questions from this week’s episode (June 4, 2019)
This week’s episode had its goods and bads and its ups and downs. What was important about this episode was that it provided the final build-up to the storylines which will take the center stage at the Super ShowDown event just three nights later.
We had a good tag team match to kick off the night, as Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods took on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Apart from that, WWE surprisingly gave us the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the show when we least expected it.
The 24/7 Championship changed hands twice during the night, which saw R-Truth become a record 4-time 24/7 Champion.
With all that and more packed in just two hours, WWE left us asking quite a few questions at the end of the night.
In this article, we will look at the 3 biggest questions we have from this week’s episode of SmackDown.
#3 Does a monster need to explain himself?
For the second time on SmackDown, Kayla Braxton tried to interview the man who has been destroying legends and mid-card superstars since WrestleMania 35 came to an end.
While Braxton wasn’t too good in getting the words out of Lars’ mouth, it was The Freak himself who took the interview through by stating that he hurt people because he had accepted the role he had been given, as a monster everyone feared.
Okay, so now we know why Lars is destroying other superstars, but do we really care about that? Did we not know why he has been introduced to the main roster six months ago?
WWE putting a segment to explain the actions of a man who is simply out there to enforce his dominance was a very bad idea, as he is yet to compete in a match and show his complete dominance. The interview and the comments could have waited for a later date.
Instead, WWE could have made Lars destroy the Lumberjacks in the Lumberjack match, and unintentionally play a role in R-Truth winning back his 24/7 Championship.
