WWE SmackDown: 3 things WWE cleverly told us through Kevin Owens' attack on Shane McMahon
After a brilliant Extreme Rules and a solid Raw, WWE managed to pull off a fast-paced and entertaining SmackDown Live show with plenty of new storylines and feuds. This week, the Eric Bischoff era has officially kicked off and you could straight away see the changes.
Almost everyone on the SmackDown roster got screen time this week and that is what I loved the most. We saw Shane McMahon kick things off with his Town Hall meeting which was disrupted by his arch-enemy Kevin Owens, who attacked Shane. We saw Randy Orton pin the WWE Champion Kofi Kingston to potentially set up a new feud.
Also, we finally saw Ember Moon involved in some sensible storyline as she is now in the SmackDown Women's Championship picture. Charlotte also returned this week as did Andrade. WWE also teased a feud between Ali and Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship, which has to be one of the best things about the show.
The only disappointing aspect of the show was that Daniel Bryan didn't make the 'career-altering' announcement which he promises. In this slideshow though, we are going to talk about Owens' attack on Shane and decode the 3 things WWE cleverly told us through that segment:
#3 Shane McMahon might take a break after SummerSlam
This would be the best thing that can happen to SmackDown Live, as frankly, Shane has had too much screen time both on the red brand and the blue brand. Today, when Kevin delivered a stone-cold stunner to Shane, the latter botched it completely when all he had to do was to eat it. Maybe a little tiredness has started to creep in for Shane, and Vince wouldn't want his product to suffer.
Also, this whole storyline between Kevin and Shane is based on the latter getting more screen space than the other superstars who are better than him. So, once Owens settles his feud with Shane at SummerSlam, which most definitely will end with the former getting the win, the Best in the World might then take some time off and get less screen time going forward.
