WWE SmackDown, 30th August - Preview

Daniel Bryan

After a RAW that saw some pretty huge moments, SmackDown this week will try and show us the aftermaths of a few events that were left unanswered.

With Bryan looking helpless yet unfazed in his fight against the tyrant boss Triple H, will he find someone to help him around on SmackDown? Or will he be put down again and taught some lessons after having done a good job redesigning Triple H’s new Cadillac?

AJ Lee’s huge pipebomb has surely irked a lot of divas on the roster, and they aren’t shy ranting about it in social media. Plus, there is Punk vs Heyman that also needs to be addressed. With a lot to expect from the blue brand this week, let us look at the preview of SmackDown for this week’s show:

1. Randy Orton vs the Miz

After a stunning match against Christian last night on RAW, Orton sets to cement himself as a strong champion, as he takes on the Miz tonight.

The Miz, who is currently busy teaching Fandango how to dance, has a strong opponent to face this week and will most probably have to give it his all in order to stand up against the Viper.

Will Miz be able to stand toe to toe with Orton? Or will he be just another victim to the Champion’s venomous RKO? Let’s hope the Miz manages to have a strong showing against Orton who, with the help of the management, aims to become invincible.

2. Dolph Ziggler vs the Shield

Looks like Dolph’s mouth has gotten him into trouble again. Ziggler has always been too outspoken, and this time around Triple H seems in no mood to spare the rod against a spoilt child like Ziggler.

After having already faced the trio together on RAW the previous week and fallen flat on his back, Ziggler will look to impress on and all with a strong showing.

Will Ziggler be able to fend off the Shield’s numbers’ game or will he again end up overrun by the pack? Chances of Ziggler finding a partner to help him put up a stiff fight look more and more likely.

3. Rob Van Dam vs Damien Sandow

The man who is set to challenge Alberto Del Rio for the World Title will face off against the man who has every opportunity to be the champ himself courtesy his MITB briefcase, Damien Sandow.

After having lost to Rhodes twice in a row, things don’t look too good for the MITB winner who is having a tough time outsmarting his former best friend.

RVD on the other hand looks all set to give Del Rio a run for his title after stellar performances every week. He has defied age and shown everyone that he still has a lot of left in the tank and a title run surely cannot be ruled out.

Plus, there is the addition of an unlikely pairing with Ricardo who looks all set to give back ADR what he truly deserves for thrashing his former ring announcer to pulp.

Will RVD be able to garner momentum by beating Sandow? Or will the MITB winner sneak out a victory against all the odds stacked against him?

4. Daniel Bryan vs Ryback

After being beaten and embarrassed by the Shield, Bryan will look to vent his anger out on somebody. Will Ryback be a good choice for that? Well, it all depends on the latter who seems to be enjoying his role as a bully.

Plus, Bryan must have an eye out for the Shield and Orton who can prove to be a hindrance during the match. As if facing Ryback wasn’t daunting enough, Bryan will also have to protect himself against such interference.

Will Bryan be able to stand on his feet by the end of the show? Or will he get bullied and end up flat on his back like on RAW this week? Things seem a bit too much for Bryan who clearly needs help from someone ‘Big’ enough to handle the situation.
