WWE SmackDown: 5 Surprising segments that can happen tonight on the show (21 May 2019)
After the conclusion of a mostly successful Money in the Bank PPV, WWE delivered the fallout episode of RAW last night with quite a few twists and major segments. It is now the turn of the blue brand to take the baton.
WWE has already announced some major segments for the with the biggest one of them being the return of Big E and a New Day Welcome Back celebration. From the looks of it, WWE might be planning some major twists on their last big show before All Elite Wrestling's Double or Nothing event later this week.
WWE is also advertising a Money in the Bank rematch for tonight with the Big Dog Roman Reigns facing Elias once more. It would be interesting to see where Roman's booking goes from here.
In this article, let's take a look at the 5 Surprising segments that can happen on SmackDown tonight.
#5 A new champion arrives with the 24/7 title on SmackDown
Last night on RAW, we saw WWE's greatest hardcore legend and a former RAW General Manager, Mick Foley announce WWE's newest title. The fans were hoping it to be the reintroduction of the Hardcore title and WWE in some way catered to that request, although not completely.
Mick Foley revealed the new "24/7 Title" on RAW last night which basically is a toned-down PG version of the Hardcore title. The rules for defending it are same as that of the Hardcore title as the champion can be pinned anywhere, anytime by anyone as long as a referee is present there.
Last night itself we saw 3 champions with Titus O'Neil winning it first only to lose it to Robert Roode a minute after. Later in the show, we saw R-Truth trick Roode and pin him to become the new 24/7 Champion. Truth then did a smart thing and ran away in his car to avoid any further title changes in the night.
Truth than revealed on Twitter that he will be bringing the title to SmackDown tonight. An interesting way to establish the unpredictable nature of this championship would be if Truth appears on SmackDown only to reveal that he lost the championship to someone overnight. Anyone like Rusev, Jinder Mahal, or Curtis Axel could be then revealed as the newest 24/7 champion.
