WWE SmackDown, 6th September - Preview
Triple H‘s new regime showed everyone just what they will have to go through if they came out in the open against him. Rhodes sadly was too late to realize that. Daniel Bryan was knocked out by Big Show after several moments of intense emotional turmoil. Will Big Show end his cry baby role and stand up against the management? Will the corporation find a new scapegoat like Cody to make an example of?
Let us look at these questions in detail in the matches we will see on SmackDown this week and what we can expect of it.
1. Ryback vs Dolph Ziggler
This week on RAW, Ziggler looked helpless against WWE’s bully Ryback. After Ambrose attacked Ziggler from behind, the show off stood no chance against this monster who just ran over Ziggler and nearly destroyed him.
Ziggler and Ryback both do not have a match at Night of Champions. With two matches in a week, it looks as though Ryback and Ziggler will settle their score at NOC. Will this be Ziggler’s chance of a revenge or will Ziggler again be a victim of Shield’s cheap tactics?
2. Curtis Axel vs Kofi Kingston
Though he is in a feud at the moment with CM Punk, Curtis Axel can show the WWE Universe that he is a wrestler who should not be taken lightly by defeating Kofi Kingston. Kofi, on the other hand, is trying to make it to the spotlight again and would surely like to get back to the Intercontinental title picture.
Will CM Punk use this as an opportunity to weaken Heyman’s only protection? Though unlikely this looks like an interesting scenario. Expect this to be a great match with a lot of boom boom action from Kofi and Axel.
3. Naomi vs Brie Bella
Usually, this match wouldn’t be given much consideration, especially because it is a Divas match. But with the entire division taking a new turn this week on RAW, the Divas finally have a storyline worth working on. Two of AJ Lee’s challengers at Night of Champions and AJ will be looking at both of them keenly.
Naomi and Bella, on the other hand, will look to prove to AJ that she needs to be worried about defending the title against them. Both will look for a win and one can expect the other Nikki to play some role in her sister’s win.
4. The Usos vs The Real Americans
Though the Tag Champions Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns look occupied doing Triple H’s dirty work, the challengers are growing steadily. The Prime Time Players looked strong beating 3MB this week and are above the two other tag teams namely the Usos and Real Americans. The latter team managed by Zeb Colter have experienced a string of losses which has heavily damaged their credibility.
Let’s hope the Real Americans are able to beat the Usos this week and then face the PTP to decide who is the most eligible to face the Shield at Night of Champions.
5. Big Show vs 3MB
After being forced to knockout Daniel Bryan this week on RAW, Big Show will get a good opportunity to vent his anger on SmackDown and sadly it is the team of Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre and Heath Slater. The trio are creating a legacy for themselves in being the biggest jobbers in the company’s history and Big Show will clearly help continue their glorified run.
However, this could also lead to Big Show realizing his potential to revolt against Triple H and his tyranny or we could see Show succumb to Triple H’s pressure and join forces with him.
6. Randy Orton vs Rob Van Dam
WWE Champion and the No.1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title will have go against each other in what one can expect to be a great match. RVD looks hot after maintaining a winning streak for the past two weeks. Orton, too, has looked solid after having defeated both Christian and Rhodes, which helped the latter get fired. While RVD looks strong he has to step up to a higher gear to defeat Orton as he has looked invincible even without any outside help.
Let’s hope RVD doesn’t have to face the same fate as Rhodes did this week. Plus there is also a possibility of ADR creating some problems by trying to attack Ricardo.
7. Daniel Bryan vs Seth Rollins
These two have faced recently before, but still the prospect of seeing WWE’s two best in-ring workers should surely lead to a mouthwatering contest. Daniel Bryan has been laying flat on his back for the past few weeks and has found it really hard to keep up against the new corporation.
Orton and the Shield humiliated Bryan last week on SmackDown and stood tall against his senseless body. Will things be the same this time around too? Or will Daniel Bryan be able to turn the tables and get away unscathed? SmackDown tomorrow will give us all the answers.
