WWE SmackDown, Feb 14 - Results
WWE SmackDown was taped in Ontario, California and is the latest build to the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV.
The Shield vs Daniel Bryan, Christian and Sheamus
The show began with a well written and executed opening match between the Shield and the team of Daniel Bryan, Christian and Sheamus. The match was extremely over with the crowd and was really well paced. The Shield picked up the victory after Sheamus accidentally laid out Christian with the Brogue Kick giving Dean Ambrose a chance to pin him.
Winner: The Shield
Zeb Colter and Vickie Gurrerro had a backstage segment where Colter demands a title shot for Jack Swagger and Vickie puts him in a Fatal Four Way match against Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston and Mark Henry.
Antonio Cesaro is being interviewed where he vents out his frustration for not being realized as a top star in the company. He said he will prove himself as a top star in his match tonight with Randy Orton.
Fatal Four Way: Jack Swagger vs Rey Mysterio vs Kofi Kingston vs Mark Henry
Surprisingly this was another match that managed to impress one and all. The match was well laid out and the execution was top notch. Swagger picked up the victory after he made Kofi tap out to the patriot lock. Looks like WWE is serious about pushing Swagger and Cesaro to the top.
Winner: Jack Swagger
The Usos & Rhodes Brothers vs New Age Outlaws & RybAxel
A decent match in comparison to the other two that took place earlier. But the presence of so many wrestlers in the ring did manage to make the bout interesting. The match managed to meet all expectations and was entertaining to say the most. The Usos & Rhodes Brothers picked up the victory after one of the Usos pinned Road Dogg.
Winner: The Usos & Rhodes Brothers
Another build to the match between Orton and Cesaro tonight, where Orton tells that he will even his record against his Elimination Chamber opponent by defeating Cesaro tonight. He says he will do so by becoming ‘The Viper’ to somehow please the Authority.
Darren Young vs Damien Sandow
It was sad to see Sandow in a squash match like this, anyway the whole point of the match was to have Titus O’Neil in the commentary which is without doubt one of his strongholds. It would be nice to see O’Neil doing commentary more often. After Young pinned Sandow, Titus attacked him from behind but Young countered hit him on the head and ripped of his pants. Well, Yes, Darren Young did do that.
Winner: Darren Young
The Miz vs Fandango
The Miz defeated Fandango after Emma and Santino Marella distracted the latter. Summer Rae and Emma had a confrontation outside the ring later.
Winner: The Miz
Randy Orton vs Antonio Cesaro
The biggest surprise of the day came when Cesaro pinned Orton clean in the middle of the ring. Orton should be given credit here as he did really well to put Cesaro over as a huge threat to the title in Elimination Chamber. Cesaro like always looked solid in the ring and Orton did really well to sell his moves. The finish came after Cesaro hit the sunset flip powerbomb from the ropes then a huge uppercut and finally the Neutralizer to pin Orton in the center of the ring. Let’s hope this is the beginning of something good for Cesaro in the company.
Winner: Antonio Cesaro
