WWE SmackDown Results: Bloodline secures top title; new MITB briefcase unveiled; Logan Paul Humiliated

We saw Logan Paul show up backstage in a Prime-branded truck before Cody Rhodes kicked off the WWE SmackDown before SummerSlam. He called Solo Sikoa out to the ring, and the latter came out in a suit.

Solo asked Cleveland to acknowledge him, and we got 'Solo sucks' chants before Cody told him that he understood his motivations and even admired them from a distance, but that didn't mean that he would be able to beat the champ at SummerSlam.

WWE SmackDown Results (August 2, 2024):

  • Andrade def. Carmelo Hayes
  • Santos Escobar def. Apollo Crews
  • Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill def. The Unholy Union via DQ - Women's Tag Team Championship match
  • The Bloodline def. DIY to become the new WWE Tag Team Champion

As the opening segment continued, Cody said that he owed the win to Randy Orton and Kevin Owens, who sacrificed themselves for him, and he needed to win at SummerSlam to repay the debt.

Solo claimed that Roman Reigns was a weak Tribal Chief at WrestleMania, but he was stronger and far more dangerous.

Solo proposed a Bloodline Rules match before Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa emerged from the crowd and surrounded the ring.

Cody said he was not afraid of the Bloodline and called Jacob an 'SOB' before accepting the match's terms.

Solo said that the tag titles would come back to the Bloodline tonight, and at SummerSlam, he would take the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody. Rhodes called Solo a wannabe before the two had a staredown in the ring, and SmackDown moved on.

WWE SmackDown Results: Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes

Hayes started strong with a dropkick, and Andrade retorted with one of his own before Melo was sent to the floor. After a break on SmackDown, Melo tried for an armbar, but Andrade broke it up and dodged the Nothin' But Net.

Melo came back with some chops to the chest before Andrade came back with some big dives. Melo was caught in the figure-four leglock but got a rope break.

Andrade dodged a big dive and tried for the Message but it was blocked before they traded rollups. Andrade came out on top and reversed the O'Connor roll before getting the pin.

Escobar was in control in the ring and Baron Corbin was at ringside to support Crews. Apollo came back with some strikes before Santos took out with a big move for a near fall.

Nick Aldis was out next, and there were three dignitaries from Cleveland to honor Logan Paul, who made his entrance next.

Logan made fun of his challenger and said that LA Knight could not take his United States Championship away from him in his hometown.

He then called the fans losers for not cheering for him before the 'dignitaries' honored him as 'Cleveland's Finest.'

They unveiled a huge banner with a picture of Logan, but someone had spraypainted the word 'Yeah' on top of it.

LA Knight showed up and got a big reaction from the crowd before saying that this wasn't the worst thing to happen to him in the next 24 hours. He added that he would find another banner for Paul and wandered off backstage, where The Pretty Deadly tried to sing him a song.

LA walked up to the Prime-branded truck and ran off with it as the US Champ tried to run and chase him down.

After a SmackDown break, Logan was seen complaining to Nick Aldis, who said he would take it up with the 'Dignitaries.'

WWE SmackDown Results: The Unholy Union (c) vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill - Women's Tag Team Championship match

The champs took big overhead slams from Bianca and Cargill, which put the challengers in control of the match early on. They then deadlifted either champ in each corner and hit double Gorilla Press Slams before we headed for a break.

Back on SmackDown, the champs isolated Cargill in the ring, and Isla Dawn dragged Belair from the apron to keep Jade from making the tag. Dawn ran to the ring for a double-team Senton on Jade for a near fall before Cargill countered into a double suplex and made the tag.

Belair came in with a double crossbody before getting a stalling vertical suplex on Fyre. The champs came back with some moves on the apron before Blair Davenport attacked Jade and sent her into the steel steps outside. The referee called for a DQ. This finish meant the titles won't change hands.

On the way to the ring before the main event, Johnny Gargano said this was the same arena where he saw his first WWE live show in 1996.

WWE SmackDown Results: DIY (c) vs. The Bloodline - WWE Tag Team Championship match

Tama Tonga and Ciampa kicked off the match, and the latter was tossed into the ring post and fell outside as we headed for another break. Back on SmackDown, Fatu was sent headfirst into the ring post before Gargano tagged in.

The champs hit double kicks on Tonga in the corner before Gargano took Fatu out in the corner, and Ciampa hit the Air Raid Crash from the middle rope in the ring. Fatu came back with some big moves and got the hip attack in the corner before Tonga came in with a frog splash for the near fall.

Fatu tried to hit Gargano against the steel steps, but the latter sidestepped before the champs hit Shatter Machine on Tonga in the ring. Tonga Loa ran distraction before Solo came in for the Samoan Spike on Ciampa in the corner.

Ciampa managed to kick out before Garagano cleared the ring and got the Poison Rana on Fatu. Fatu shrugged it off and came in with his big DDT finisher before getting the win!
