Solo Sikoa showed up on SmackDown with Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, saying that he deserved a rematch due to the interruption from Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.
Rhodes said that Solo brought it upon himself by cosplaying as the tribal chief and that he beat Solo fair and square, meaning that he had no grounds for requesting a rematch.
Solo and the Bloodline were about to attack Cody, but Kevin Owens showed up with steel chairs and got in the ring to defend the WWE Champ. Solo and his boys retreated after Sikoa said he would find Roman Reigns first and then take care of Cody.
After Solo and the Bloodline left, Cody called Owens back to the ring and said he wanted to face KO in a title match. Owens said he didn't deserve a title match, and Cody brought up the times the former Universal Champ sacrificed himself for Rhodes.
Cody headed out to tell Nick Aldis to set up the match for Bash at Berlin before SmackDown moved on.

We got a short promo for Giovanni Vinci, who was set to make his return.
WWE SmackDown Results: Santos Escobar vs. Andrade
Angel and Berto were running distraction early on but Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin came out and chased them off. Escobar rolled outside, and Andrade hit a big moonsault on him before dragging him back in for a crossbody and a near fall.

Solo Sikoa's underlings told him that Roman had still not shown up, but Sikoa told them he would be there before heading out to the ring.
Solo asked the crowd to acknowledge him before addressing Reigns, saying that Sikoa was the Tribal Chief now.
If Roman wanted to be the Tribal Chief and wanted the Ula Fala, he should 'come and get it from him.'
Roman made his entrance and was attacked by the Tongans, who the former WWE Champ quickly took down. Reigns lifted the steel steps and smashed Loa and Tama with it before heading to the ring.
Solo was hit with strikes, and the Superman Punch, but the Bloodline dragged Solo out of the ring before he could hit the Spear.
The Ula Fala was lying in the ring as the Bloodline ran off. Roman picked it up before Tama Tonga showed up with Tonga Loa and attacked Reigns. They took the Ula Fala back and gave it to Solo before Roman hit them with Superman punches.

Roman came back with a steel chair and assaulted Tonga Loa with it as Solo yelled from the entrance ramp that he was the chief. Roman and Solo had a staredown across the arena as SmackDown went off the air.
