WWE SmackDown Results: Roman Reings destroyed; new title challengers for the Bloodline

We saw The Bloodline arrive at the arena before WWE SmackDown kicked off with Nia Jax's championship win celebration. The ring was decorated with pink and white balloons and unicorns, with Tiffany Stratton and Pretty Deadly already inside.

Jax came out on a throne, being carried by four people before she got inside the ring and was handed a pink mic.

WWE SmackDown Results (August 16, 2024):

  • Carmelo Hayes def. Andrade
  • Blair Davenport def. Naomi
  • Kevin Owens def. Grayson Waller
  • Street Profits def. DIY

Nia Jax said that this wasn't her style and that she preferred destruction. She said she was now the WWE Women's Champion and The Queen and that everyone should bow down to her, starting with Tiffany. Stratton hesitated and changed the topic to having Pretty Deadly sing a song for her.

As the Deadly sang and danced for Nia, Michin attacked them with a Kendo stick.

While Nia and Stratton ran off, Pretty Deadly took some big shots with the Kendo stick before Michin destroyed the party arrangements in the ring.

Backstage, Naomi, Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair were celebrating when Carmelo Hayes came in and asked them if they would be there to celebrate his win over Andrade later in the night.

Cargill and the rest laughed at Melo, reminding him that Andrade had already beaten him twice.

WWE SmackDown Results: Carmelo Hayes vs. Andrade

Andrade was in control early on. He sent Hayes outside before hitting a huge moonsault. Andrade dropped him off the top rope but missed the move he planned. Hayes countered the move in the corner and dropped Andrade outside before we headed for a break.

Back on SmackDown, Andrade hit a big Spanish Fly before Melo got a superkick but took two of the three amigos, countering the last with a cutter. Carmelo got a knee strike and a back elbow before countering The Message and picking up the win.

Result: Carmelo Hayes def. Andrade

Andrade and Melo got into a brawl after the match, and officials came in to stop them. The SmackDown crowd chanted, "Let them fight!"

Backstage on SmackDown, Solo Sikoa told Tama Tonga that he was the Tribal Chief now, but if Roman Reigns managed to take the Ula Fala from him, he would become the Tribal Chief again, and he would acknowledge him as such.

WWE SmackDown Results: Naomi vs. Blair Davenport

Davenport got the early takedown, but Naomi dodged a lariat and hit the rearview before getting a big crossbody to the outside off the apron. Davenport took a crossbody off the top rope back in the ring before we headed for a break.

Back on SmackDown, Davenport got a top rope move of her own before she was dropkicked into the corner. Naomi missed the moonsault before taking the knee to the head before Davenport got the win.

Result: Blair Davenport def. Naomi

Grayson Waller was mouthing backstage, calling Kevin Owens a loser and an easy win, saying he gets opportunities for no reason.

KO stood behind Waller for most of it and told him that if all that was true, tonight's match should be easy for Grayson.

We got a short tribute for the late Afa of the Wild Samoans, the uncle of Rikishi, The Rock, and Roman Reigns.

NXT champions Ethan Page and Roxanne Perez watched the show in the front row tonight.

WWE SmackDown Results: Kevin Owens vs. Grayson Waller

Owens started strong and unloaded on Waller in the corner before taking him down for a big senton. Waller dodged the cannonball before KO hit him with a lariat outside the ring and sent him into the barricades.

Owens beat him on the announce desk before a distraction from Austin Theory allowed Waller to take him down at ringside.

Waller was showboating at ringside when KO took him and Theory down but was driven into the ring post and hit with a DDT on the floor. Waller got an elbow drop for a near fall in the ring before Owens recovered and hit the Swanton Bomb.

Waller went for the rolling cutter, but KO blocked it and hit the Stunner before getting the powerbomb for the win.

Result: Kevin Owens def. Grayson Waller

After the match, KO sent Waller outside. He was about to hit a big move, but Theory stopped him and got some steel chairs. Cody Rhodes took the steel chairs from them before he and KO beat A-Town Down Under out of the ring.

Cody's title belt was on the floor, and KO picked it up before handing it back to Rhodes and walking off.

Backstage, Solo said that Roman needed to acknowledge him tonight before Tama Tonga put the Ula Fala on him.

Legado Del Fantasma was at the dinner table, and Santos Escobar told Angel that he would beat LA Knight next week to remind everyone what Legado stood for.

LA Knight was out next and made fun of the Legado's promo before saying he would hit Escobar with a BFT and take him down next week.

Backstage, we learned that Michin got a title shot against Nia Jax next week. Jax attacked Michin before Nick Aldis came in and told the champ to get away from her.

WWE SmackDown Results: Street Profits vs. DIY

Gargano and Ford started the match, and tags were made before Ciampa was isolated in the ring.

The Profits got a big assisted moonsault before Ciampa was sent outside. Dawkins and Ford hit an assisted German Suplex before Angelo missed a Swanton Bomb.

Gargano and Ford started superkicks and strikes in the ring before Montez took the Shatter Machine. Dawkins broke the pin and took Gargano out at ringside before the Profits got their double-team finisher in the ring for a near fall on Ciampa.

Ford was tossed outside as Gargano returned, and Dawkins took a Superkick/Fairytale Ending combo for a near fall. Ford and Dawkins got back up and hit the double-team super blockbuster on Gargano before picking up the win on SmackDown. Dawkins and Ford are the new challengers for Bloodline's WWE Tag Team Championship.

Solo Sikoa was out next with Tama Tonga and said Roman Reigns needed to acknowledge him. He added that if Roman wanted the Ula Fala back, he should come out to the ring and take it from him. Roman entered and got in the ring before starting a brawl with Solo.

Tama Tonga stayed out of it at first, but as Solo was taking a beating, Tama joined in as well. Roman took Tama out with a uranage and sent them both outside before clearing the announcement desk. Solo returned with some big strikes and sent Roman back into the ring, but Reigns dodged the Spike and hit a Superman Punch and the Spear.

Roman picked up the Ula Fala and put it around his neck before Jacob Fatu came out of nowhere and took him down. Is Roman technically the Tribal Chief again? Fatu took Roman out with a hip attack in the corner before tossing him outside for Solo and the gang to powerbomb him through the announce desk!

The Bloodline dragged Roman back into the ring as Solo put on the Ula Fala, and the group posed over Reigns, and SmackDown went off the air.
