Analysis

The Primetime Players managed to pick up an impressive victory on Smackdown to follow up from their solid performance at the Elimination Chamber event. They have now officially been named the number one contenders and will likely have their championship match at Money in the Bank. Since Kingston is already in the ladder match, New Day may utilize the free bird rule and have Big E/Xavier Woods face PTP.

Zach Ryder accepted Owens open challenge in what should be an entertaining bout and hopefully dominant victory for Owens who will face Cena in a rematch at MITB. Owens has been excelling on the main roster thus far and hopefully that trend continues.

Rusev continues to be featured on WWE television despite being unable to compete should be a good sign. The tension between Rusev, Lana, Ziggler continued which may signal that Rusev either won’t be out for too long or that when he does come back he will still be featured in a prominent role.

Kane’s announced involvement in the Money in the Bank ladder match really doesn’t add any extra intrigue, in fact if anything it will likely hinder the bout which was sure to be exciting but now may become more sluggish. Especially since Kane is definitely no chance to win at all. Hopefully, all the other talented competitors involved can still put on an incredible match. Also, Kane’s involvement makes the predictable option of a Reigns victory, where he overcomes the odds, seem more likely.
