WWE Smackdown Spoilers - July 4, 2014
WWE Smackdown returned to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, for its weekly TV tapings, yesterday night.
As usual we have the spoilers from the show unwrapped for those who want to know the proceedings beforehand.
The show opened up with Seth Rollins making his way to the ring to make an announcement. Soon after, he was interrupted by his arch rival, Dean Ambrose.
Randy Orton sneaked up on Ambrose and the two exchanged blows. Roman Reigns rushed in to aid Ambrose and the four started to brawl.
Out came Triple H to give a pause to the onslaught and announced a singles match between Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton as the main event of the night. He also sent a clear message to Reigns that if he interfered in the match, he will be out of the fatal 4 way at Battleground.
As always, we have the results revealed beforehand for the episode that will be broadcasted on Friday.
- Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio for the United States Championship. Sheamus defeated Del Rio with a Brogue Kick.
- Bo Dallas vs. Diego. Bo seals the victory with his finisher the Bo-Dog.
- After the match, Chris Jericho made his way to the ring and talked about the Wyatt’s. He was soon interrupted by Bray Wyatt on the big screen. Jericho threw an open challenge at him. But out came The Miz to confront Jericho only to receive a code breaker at the hands of the Y2J superstar.
- Big E vs. Cesaro, The two had a go at each other even before the match started. The match was cancelled as the officials rushed in to stop the brawl.
- Eva Marie vs. AJ Lee. Paige is at ringside to watch the proceedings. AJ Lee gets the win via the Black Widow. Paige congratulates AJ and walks away.
- Dean Ambrose vs. Randy Orton. Seth Rollins is at ringside with the commentary team. The match ended in disqualification when Rollins hit Ambrose with the briefcase. Soon after, Roman Reigns came out to the ring to aid Ambrose. Later, Reigns was about to spear Orton, but Viper slipped out of the ring. The show ended with the two exchanging a cold stare at each other.
