WWE star to unsuspectingly attack Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship? Analyzing potential swerve

Gunther continues to snub Sami Zayn's demand for a World Heavyweight Championship match, and tonight's WWE RAW was no different. The Ring General had a back-and-forth with the Underdog from the Underground, which ended in the latter's proposal being declined yet again.

However, Ludwig Kaiser played an important role in the promo segment between the pair. There were slight hints of tension between the two Imperium members when his leader interrupted his initial promo battle with Zayn. He could target the Austrian star and eye the world title to kickstart a main event run.

Furthermore, Kaiser and Gunther pulled a quick one over Zayn when pretending that they were about to go to blows. The German star instead laid Sami out with a clothesline and held him for the world champ to cast away his world title challenge.

The man who ended the world champ's record-breaking Intercontinental Championship reign got revenge. He attacked Kaiser while he was trying to leave the ring, but his leader wasn't quick enough to react down the ramp.

Ludwig Kaiser's patience regarding being Gunther's crash test dummy might be wearing thin. He could strike against his longtime friend when he's at his most vulnerable, especially when he is preoccupied with Zayn.

A match between the King of the Ring and Zayn looks likely to eventually be booked, potentially at WWE Bad Blood (October 5). Kaiser could initially help his stablemate win the match but then turn on him post-match.

Gunther isn't surprised by Ludwig Kaiser's rise as a singles star on WWE RAW

Ludwig Kaiser has managed to step out of The Ring General's shadow and become a star in his own right. His promo work, in-ring abilities, and character have made him a must-see personality on WWE RAW.

Gunther waxed lyrical about Kaiser upon his rise from tag teaming with Giovanni Vinci to becoming a singles star. The champ told Gorilla Position that he was not surprised as he always saw potential in the star.

"It’s no surprise because I always saw that in him. I think what it took was that kind of like he saw that in himself a little bit. I think that was the biggest step for him. And now he has the chance to do his own thing and go out there and make a name for himself just on his own. And I’m very pleased to be able to witness that first-hand. I think he’s just getting started."

A feud between the Imperium duo would be entertaining, especially with Kaiser potentially turning babyface. He's been somewhat of a James Bond villain with his mysterious character since partnering up with the reigning World Heavyweight Champion in WWE NXT.
