WWE SummerSlam 2019: 3 surprising decisions so far
We are just hours away from the 2019 edition of the Biggest Party of the Summer, WWE SummerSlam. Being the second biggest PPV of the year for the largest wrestling promotion in the world, SummerSlam is one of the most popular wrestling events in the history of the industry.
There's always this big match feeling when it comes to any feud for SummerSlam, but not all the matches booked for the show this year fall into this category. Credit where it's due, WWE has done a decent job in building up the show, something they have received praises for from the fans as well.
But that doesn't mean that there haven't been decisions throughout the Road to SummerSlam so far that have left many scratching their heads.
Let's take a look at three surprising decisions by the company for SummerSlam 2019. Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section below.
#3 No tag team matches on the card
When was the last time a WWE PPV did not have any tag team match at all? If any of you remember the show, please let me know in the comments section, because I can't think of any.
The current card of SummerSlam 2019 has no tag team match booked so far. With as many as three tag team championships on the main roster, why would you not have any of them be defended on your second biggest PPV of the year?
The SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day are impressing everyone with their in-ring skills, but don't have a proper feud in place. The same goes with the RAW Tag Champions, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. It's great to see the two alongside AJ Styles, but putting the Tag Titles on them and not giving them a proper feud for it seems odd.
When it comes to the Women's Tag Division, we just got ourselves new champions in Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. One has to wonder why did that fatal-four way match not take place at SummerSlam instead of RAW.
While WWE always has the option to put on a random impromptu match for any of these titles, professional wrestling is not just about the in-ring action, but the stories as well.
