WWE SummerSlam: 3 Things WWE subtly told us through Goldberg vs Ziggler

Goldberg vs Ziggler was what it should have been!
Goldberg vs Ziggler was what it should have been!

The thirty-second edition of WWE Summerslam took place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. One of the marquee matches for the night saw the Hall of Famer Goldberg return to in-ring action to take on the Show-off, Dolph Ziggler.

The Canadian fans were full of excitement and cheered their hearts out for the Myth with chants of "Goldberg!" echoing all around the arena multiple times. The match started in unexpectedly with Ziggler delivering two superkicks to Goldberg, but it took just one spear and a jackhammer for Goldberg to seal the match and pin him.

In this article, let's take a look at the three things WWE subtly told us through this segment and match. Feel free to share your thoughts and views in the comments section below.

#3 They've learned to not drag Goldberg's match for long

Goldberg's last match in WWE came two months ago when he squared-off in a first-time-ever match against The Undertaker at WWE Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, the bout and the competitors were criticized heavily by both fans and critics, especially Goldberg, who struggled to even move properly inside the ring.

One of the biggest reasons for the same was the length of the match. Goldberg is not a young athletic wrestler, but an old Hall of Famer for whom endurance is not a plus point. One can see that from his entrance itself, which leaves him sweating by the time he walks his way out to the ring. To expect him to wrestle a technical match after that is not a good idea.

Well, it is all good if you learn from your mistakes and WWE did so by correcting their Super ShowDown mistake, keeping the match short and effective. The fans were completely invested throughout the match - which lasted a little less than two minutes.

Goldberg is an attraction, and he should be used like one. A thunderous spear, and a jackhammer, and it's all over. You have the likes of AJ Styles and Seth Rollins to please the wrestling-loving fans, anyway. Good decision, Vince!
