WWE Superstar to return after career-threatening injury and dethrone The Judgment Day? Exploring the potential
Finn Balor and JD McDonagh of The Judgment Day have defended their WWE Tag Team Championship only once since winning them on the June 24 edition of Monday Night RAW. That came against Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston of The New Day on September 16 on RAW.
Balor and McDonagh successfully retained the titles after outside interference from Carlito, Liv Morgan, and Dominik, and some miscommunication between Kingston and Woods. However, the duo's titles might be in jeopardy. A former WWE Champion might return to remove The Prince and McDonagh while helping out his mates. And who would it be? He's none other than Big E.
The two-time Intercontinental Champion has been away from WWE for over two years. He suffered a horrific neck injury during an edition of SmackDown on March 11, 2022. It was a tag-team match with Kofi Kingston against Ridge Holland and Sheamus. During the bout, Holland gave an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Big E at ringside, resulting in Big E accidentally breaking his neck. It was later reported that he suffered fractures to his C1 and C6 vertebrae. The former WWE Champion initially revealed that even though he didn't go for the surgery, the doctors had advised him to never wrestle again.
However, there's still a flickering hope among the fans, more so after Big E's recent comments on his WWE return. While speaking at the Fanatics Live event, Big E addressed his return. He mentioned that he has yet to get clearance from medical experts but hopes for the best.
"I'm not medically cleared yet, but we will see," E said.
Once he returns, Big E could break the truce between Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. The two have not been on good terms since the last few weeks. There have been constant fights, with Xavier Woods acting more as a heel.
It would be great if Big E could finally make a return and get Woods and Kingston to clear out their issues and finally come together to dethrone Judgment Day as the tag champs. In this case, the former WWE Champion can have his friends' backs if Carlito and Dirty Dom interfere during the match.
Kofi Kingston called out Xavier Woods for interfering in his match on WWE RAW this week
The New Day mates have been in a heated verbal battle for the past few weeks. On this week's episode on RAW, Xavier Woods had a fight with Kingston at ringside after the former tried to interfere in Kofi's match against Pete Dunne.
Woods hit Pete Dunne outside the ring as Kofi pushed him out. However, Kingston wasn't happy with Woods interfering in his match and scolded him for that. Later, Dunne pinned him.
The New Day mates had another heated exchange backstage over their miscommunication. Also, on last week's episode of RAW, Kofi and Woods lost a match against The War Raiders due to miscommunication while tagging.
It's high time Big E returns and gets these two together before The New Day progresses towards a split.
