WWE superstar Seth Rollins injured on Raw
Roman Reigns’ Clothesline resulted in an injury for Rollins
WWE superstar Seth Rollins reportedly limped off badly after suffering a knee injury during his 3-on-2 Handicap match on Raw.
The Briefcase holder teamed up with Randy Orton and Kane to battle against John Cena and former Shield partner Roman Reigns in the main event match for Monday night.
The injury possibly occurred when Reigns took him out with a Clothesline that took him out of the ring and onto the floor. As a result of a bad landing, Rollins clasped his knee and wasn’t shown on camera after that.
The bad knee definitely was not scripted as the on-duty medics attended to him immediately after the referee threw in the ‘X’ hand gesture. Rollins was checked by the WWE medics and was taken backstage.
It will be a big concern for the company if Rollins’ injury turns out to be a long-term prospect. Ever since turning his back on The Shield, Rollins has turned out to be a major heel in the WWE.
Match at Battleground in jeopardy
After winning the briefcase at Money In The Bank, he has been viewed as one of the possible future faces of the business. He is booked to face Dean Ambrose at the Battleground PPV while something bigger is surely in store for him at SummerSlam.
But last night’s injury does interfere with all the plans that WWE has reserved for the Shield turncoat. Injuries to major superstars has been a constant problem lately which has foiled WWE’s game plan a number of times. We already have experienced how the likes of title holders like Daniel Bryan and Bad News Barrett faced the unfortunate routine of vacating their belts after being forced off with injuries.
There will be an official word on his situation in the next few days. So keep an eye on it.
