WWE Superstar Shorty G welcomes a new member to his family
Former NXT, RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Champion "Shorty G" Chad Gable has welcomed a new member into his family.
Monday night, Gable's wife, Kristi, gave birth to Charles James Betts (Gable's non-WWE name is also Charles Betts), the couple's third child.
According to WWE.com, the child came into the world weighing 9 pounds. Both Kristi and Charles are doing well.
Gable, a former Olympian, began his WWE career in 2013 at the WWE Performance Center. Choosing his ring name as a tribute to University of Iowa wrestling legend Dan Gable, Betts would eventually gain success in NXT as part of the American Alpha tag team with Jason Jordan, winning that brand's tag team championship.
He and Jordan would also go on to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, as well as the RAW Tag Team Championship while teaming with Robert Roode. He also had a short lived team with fellow Minnesota native, Shelton Benjamin.
Earlier this fall, Gable went through a gimmick change following an angle involving other Superstars mocking his height (even though he's 5'8"), and eventually becoming "Shorty G". He would make it to the finals of the 2019 King of the Ring tournament before losing to Baron Corbin.
His next high-profile match will be as part of Team SmackDown at this Sunday's WWE Survivor Series elimination tag team match against teams from RAW and NXT.
