WWE: Talking Points from 19th August RAW

After SummerSlam, everyone wanted to see what would happen in the world of WWE. On Sunday night, Triple H betrayed the new WWE champion, Daniel Bryan and the WWE Universe, as he drilled Bryan with a pedigree, enabling Orton to cash-in his Money in the Bank contract and become the new WWE champion.

With all said and done, this week’s episode rolled out of the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and the show kicked off with the former WWE champion. So what were the major talking points coming out of the show? Let’s find out.

Ricardo has a new client

Rob Van Dam

Alberto Del Rio managed to retain his World Heavyweight title this past Sunday at SummerSlam against Christian, but one shouldn’t forget his attack on his former manager/mouth piece, Ricardo. This past week on RAW, Ricardo returned with a message, saying he found someone else to replace Alberto Del Rio, and it was none other than “Mr. Monday Night” Rob Van Dam.

As a shocked Alberto looked on, RVD made his way to the ring and nearly took ADR’s head off, but ADR managed to escape before RVD could connect with the five star frogsplash. What does this unlikely alliance mean for RVD? We’ll find out next week!

Sin Cara gets injured again

Sin Cara returned from an injury not so long ago, and this past week, he took on the World Heavyweight champion, Alberto Del Rio. After the match began, Sin Cara took down Alberto Del Rio with a suicide dive on the outside, but immediately motioned to the referee that something was wrong.

The referee immediately held up the cross sign, which is usually an indication for a real – life incident that needs medical attention. The medics and doctors immediately tended to Sin Cara, and although an official announcement hasn’t been made yet, it looks like Sin Cara will be taking some time off again.

CM Punk sends a strong message to Paul Heyman

After losing to Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, Punk made his way out gingerly and invited Paul Heyman to come down to the ring so that he could apologize to his face. As Paul came out with Axel, Punk told Heyman that he was sorry he couldn’t rip his hand out and take it home with him.

Punk then got into an unsanctioned brawl with Curtis Axel, and took Axel down with hard chair shots and a GTS on the steel steps, staring down Paul Heyman. Will WWE go ahead with a Punk – Axel program? Or do they have anything else on in store for Punk? Punk only has retribution on his mind, and one feels that it’s only a matter of time before Punk gets his hands on Paul Heyman.
