WWE News: WWE Hall of Famer isn't happy with fans targeting Baron Corbin
What's the story?
WWE Hall of Famer Edge and his friend Christian recently talked about Kurt Angle's WrestleMania match on their podcast, "E&C's Pod of Awesomeness".
Edge stated that he is tired of fans knocking Baron Corbin all the time.
In case you didn't know...
This past week on Monday Night Raw, Kurt Angle announced his opponent for WrestleMania. The Chicago crowd reacted mildly at best, when the opponent was revealed to be Baron Corbin.
Almost immediately, fans began expressing their opinions on the match on social media, and they didn't have kind words for the former Raw GM. Kurt Angle went on his Instagram and explained that although this wasn't a popular decision, the match was a lock for The Show of Shows.
It is being reported now that WWE is pondering on the idea of replacing Corbin, after receiving tons of backlash on social media.
The heart of the matter
Edge seems to be a huge fan of Baron Corbin. He stated on the podcast that he is tired of watching people target him on a consistent basis. Edge can be heard voicing his opinion on Corbin at the 00:09:10 mark on the latest episode.
You know, I'm tired of people always knocking Corbin, man. He's a talented dude. I know, in the internet realm, that's not a popular opinion. But he's a big, big, BIG man who can move and I... I like him. So it is great for him to be put in that slot and, you know, no matter where they go with the finish, it's a cool place for him to be."
What's next?
WWE seems to have heard the outrage of the masses and the match at WrestleMania might get changed at the last moment. If it doesn't, it would be interesting to witness the reaction Angle vs Corbin gets at MetLife Stadium on April 7th.
